동영상의 오디오 녹음에 최적인 DR-60DMKII의 기능 중 하나는 슬레이트 톤 기능으로, 편집 중에 오디오를 쉽게 정렬 할 수 있도록 설계되었습니다. 사용자는 슬레이트 버튼을 누르기 만하면 슬레이트 톤을 수동으로 녹음할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 녹음이 시작될 때 자동 톤 기능으로 인해 슬레이트 톤을 자동으로 녹음 할 수 있습니다.
장치의 모양과 형태도 카메라 부착을 고려하여 설계되었습니다. 삼각대 나사를 밑면에, 카메라 나사를 상단에 부착하면 삼각대와 카메라 사이에 DR-60DMKII를 장착 할 수 있습니다. 카메라에 장착 할 때 전체 중량을 낮추기 위해 몸체에 경량 플라스틱을 사용 했음에도 불구하고 내부 구조는 견고성과 경량 성을 제공합니다. 또한 DSLR의 조작성을 유지할 수 있는 디자인을 달성하기 위해 표준 DSLR 카메라의 너비와 동일한 133mm로 유지되었습니다.
